Van Halen's Eddie Van Halen says the best advice he's ever received came from his father.
The rocker tells "Esquire" that as a young guitarist he wasn't sure of what to do when he didn't deliver a flawless performance, so he asked his dad how to handle such situations.
He says his dad gave him two suggestions - "don't stop" and "don't let the audience know you made a mistake."
Eddie is among the men contributing the most valuable words of wisdom they've received to "Esquire's" "Amazing Portrait of the American Man in 2013."
The feature is part of a special issue commemorating the publication's 80th anniversary, which will arrive on newsstands September 17th.
