House Side of U.S. Capitol Temporarily Closed Due to Possible Asbestos

The House of Representatives side of the U.S. Capitol closed on Thursday morning because asbestos may have been released.

According to NBC Washington, during "ongoing asbestos abatement work" asbestos may have been accidentally released.  U.S. Capitol Police and the Architect of the Capitol investigated.

The Senate side was unaffected.

The Capitol is back open for tours.
