Foo Fighters Officially Return to Stage in Mexico

Earlier in the week, the Foo Fighters surprised diners a pizza restaurant in California.  The band tore through 23 songs to prepare for their official return to the stage.

On Wednesday night, the band was officially back.  The Foo Fighters played 27 songs at Mexico's Foro Sol stadium in front of 55,000 people.

According to NME, the band did not perform any new material.  But, they did offer covers of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

The band went on hiatus in the fall of 2012.  They have plans to start recording their next album soon and hope for a release in 2014.
