DC101 to play Metallica's

On the darkest day of the year, December 21st, DC101 will play Metallica's "Black Album."  We start at noon.

Metallica's self-titled album was released on August 12, 1991.  Fans call it the "Black Album" because of the album's black cover.

The darkest day of the year usually occurs on December 21 or 22.  It is known as the "Winter Solstice."  This is the time of year at which the sun appears at noon at its lowest altitude above the horizon.  There will be more than 14 and a half hours of darkness on December 21.
